Meet Claire

Candidate Statement

As a local business owner for the past two decades, I have provided employment opportunities to hundreds of people in our district. I have dealt with government bureaucracy on all levels, and hosted town hall meetings where neighbors could share their views with local mayors, city council members, and other community leaders.

I have also witnessed the downward spiral in our community as inflation rises, crime soars, and government fails to meet its basic obligation—to protect its citizens. Homeless people die in our streets as politicians squander taxpayer dollars earmarked to help them. Businesses close as smash-and-grabs become normalized and tourists avoid our crime-ridden communities. Cartels control our border, allowing drugs and terrorists to easily enter our country, as our FBI director warns that internal threats by foreign actors have reached unprecedented levels.

Leadership is nowhere to be found.
We cannot count on the same politicians who created these problems to solve them. Change is clearly needed. Together, we can roll up our sleeves and find solutions to these challenging issues. We will fight crime, secure our border, and ensure that taxpayer dollars are spent wisely.

It is time for us to come together, lock arms, and take a step forward. Please join me in uniting our community to help and protect our friends and neighbors. I respectfully request your vote.

Please elect me to Congress. I am ready to serve.
Anderson for Congress 2024

Candidate Bio

Claire Ragge Anderson was born in Freeport, NY, and lives in Los Angeles, California. She graduated from USC School of Cinema/Television Production with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1995. Following graduation, Claire worked for entertainment-industry giant Walt Disney Studios in the Creative Development Department. In 1998, Claire became a private business owner with the purchase of The GasLite in Santa Monica, which she still owns to the present day.

Claire has a long history of community and political involvement. In addition to running a time-intensive business in a stringently regulated industry, Claire decided to give back to the community she loved so much. She started weekly town hall meetings at The GasLite where local residents could express their concerns to elected officials and community leaders. She also supported the local police by sponsoring the Santa Monica Police Department’s softball team with jerseys and other needed items for several seasons.
